Mansfield District Council is in the process of reviewing its Local Plan. The ‘Local Plan Review’ is a document that sets out the blueprint for how the district will grow and change over the next 15 years and beyond. Warsop Parish Council wants to make residents aware that the Local Plan Review Publication Draft is currently available for representations under Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. The plan sets out how Mansfield (and Warsop) could grow and develop in the coming years, including plans for new homes, jobs, infrastructure and greener communities.

The consultation opened on 29 September and runs until 5pm on the 10th November 2026. At this stage, Mansfield District Council are seeking comments on whether the draft plan meets the legal requirements and is sound before it is submitted for independent examination.

Read the draft plan and share your views here: https://mansfield-consult.objective.co.uk/kse
(You will need to register to comment).

You can also view a copy of the document at the Civic Centre and at each county library in the district (along with Clipstone and Rainworth) during the representation period. Please check library opening times at https://www.inspireculture.org.uk/reading-information/find-a-library/.

Representations must be in writing and should preferably be made on the consultation portal or by email to lp@mansfield.gov.uk. Any representations sent by post should be addressed to the Planning Policy Team Leader at the address below and reach the council by the end of the representation period.

All representations must set out clearly why, and how, it is considered that the Local Plan Review Publication Draft (in whole or in part) is:

  • legally compliant or non-compliant;
  • compliant or non-compliant with the Duty to Cooperate; and/or,
  • sound or unsound.

Representations should also specify what change(s) would need to be made to make the plan sound. The Sustainability Appraisal and Habitat Regulations Assessment are also the subject of publication.

Please note that any representations you make will be made publicly available.

Assistance in making a representation is available from Vibrant Warsop, who will be hosting support meetings in the near future. For more information, or to register your interest in these meetings, please contact Maddy.
