With Gratitude and Sadness: Remembering Cllr Debra Barlow

It is with great sadness that Warsop Parish Council announces the recent passing of Councillor Debra Barlow.

Published: 21 April 2026

Debra was a passionate and dedicated Councillor and volunteer whose hard work and commitment made a lasting impact on both the Parish Council and the wider community. Debra formed ‘Let Warsop Speak’ in 2016 to fight the Stonebridge development and she was heavily involved with Swallows Green. She served as a Parish Councillor for ten years, including two years as Chair, and was also a Mansfield District Councillor from 2019 to 2023. Throughout her years of service, she demonstrated unwavering dedication to improving the lives of those she represented.
Her loss will be deeply felt by colleagues, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her contribution to public service and community life will not be forgotten.
At this difficult time, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Debra’s family and loved ones.
Further information regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course, should the family wish for details to be made public.
A minute’s silence was held at last nights Full Council meeting, in recognition of Debra’s valued service.
